Do I Need Travel Insurance?

Travel Insurance…? My clients often ponder the question about whether or not to purchase travel insurance. I ALWAYS recommend it (and NOT just during hurricane season).

You may be familiar with insurance protecting your travel investment against things like cancellation or if a hurricane disrupts your trip. But did you know the travel insurance can also protect you against trip delay such as a late flight preventing you from making your connecting flight or if Mother Nature prevents you from getting home and you have additional out-of-pocket expenses), lost or delayed baggage, as well as medical assistance needed while traveling.

These are all things that I’ve needed while traveling. And trust me, visiting a hospital outside of your home country is not the type of excursion you’d like to experience during your vacation.

I’ve had clients use insurance for various reasons including emergency surgery days before their departure, death of a family member, accidents that prevented them from traveling, changes in employment that didn’t grant them ample vacation days, developing hurricanes that prevented them from traveling back home because of airport closures, engagements that ended before the honeymoon…And these are just to name a few.

The fact of the matter is you never know what life has in store and traveling is a big investment in time and money, so it’s best to spend a little bit more and protect your investment and have a piece of mind.

No Passport? No Problem! A Tropical Vacation without a Passport is Possible!

photo 4When Beautiful Bride asks me to write an article for their publication, I tend to focus on some of my honeymoon hotspots such as Mexico, Jamaica, Europe, Hawaii, etc.  This time, they asked if I could focus on a new destination that didn’t require a passport.  The US Virgin Islands is the perfect fit!  Here is the article I wrote for the Winter/Spring 2015 issue.  Enjoy 🙂 and be sure to let me know how I can help you with your next vacation! Here is the link 🙂 Pages from BB Winter Spring 2014-15

Honeymoons for Brides from Every Region of the USA

Good afternoon and Happy Spring!

I have been a very busy travel agent, booking loads of honeymoons for happy brides and grooms. I am very honored to be a part of such an important vacation for all these wonderful couples. With that, I want to thank Jessie, the Editor-in-Chief at Beautiful Bride for giving me the opportunity to write another honeymoon article. It was great fun to write about honeymoon destinations that are inspired by the cities where the magazine is published (Las Vegas, San Diego, Central Valley, Cincinnati, Orlando and my town of Atlanta).

I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Look for it at your favorite bridal boutique, on newsstands at Albertsons, Vons, Smiths, Target, Wal-Mart, Barnes & Noble, Borders, CVS, or Walgreens, or click here to read it now 🙂HoneymoonDestnations

Happy Travels!

“…If you and your fiancĂ© are adventure lovers who enjoy escaping to the great outdoors and prefer seeing wildlife rather than living the wild life, an adventure honeymoon may be just what you crave…”

My Traveling Panda’s newest travel article is officially published in the Summer 2012 issues of Las Vegas Bride and Beautiful Bride (published nationally, including the Atlanta and Orlando markets). Cougar Cruise

Yesterday I attended the Governor’s Conference on Tourism for the state of Georgia in Athens, GA.  The final speaker of the day was talking about new trends in travel.  I had heard of most of them, but one that was new to me was a Cougar Cruise!  That is right, a cruise that is full or Cougars on the hunt for Cubs!  With the new TV show Cougar Town, the obsession with Ashton and Demi and of course, the classic Cougar Movie, to The Graduate (1967) – “Mrs. Robinson, you’re trying to seduce me. Aren’t you?”

Here is a recent article about a Cougar Cruise on Carnival.  It looks at though Carnival has decided to move on from being the Cougar Den Cruise Ship, but plenty of other cruise lines were eager to pounce on the opportunity.

Pompeii & The Amalfi Coast with Giuseppe de Toro

I think hiring a private driver for this port will be so worth it!  My husband loves to drive and explore, but I think this coast will be so spectacular, that he will want to enjoy the view too!

Again, we paired up with some couples we met on www.cruisecritic.com .  We will be using Sorrento Top Car and Giuseppe de Toro.  http://www.sorrentotopcar.com/

He will pick us up from our port, then take us to Pompeii.  We will have a private guide to show us the ruins of Pompeii.

Following this tour, we will head to various villages around the coast including Ravello, Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento.  I cannot wait to breathe in the fresh air, enjoy the views and fill my tummy with delicious food and drink!
